How an induction hood works:
50% of the airflow is being replaced by internal indrawn draught or ambient air. Thereby it's important to consider that the airbox ventilation has less power for the supply air than for the exhaust air. Only then it's possible to develop the necessary negative pressure for the kitchen.
The ambient air isn't being heated before and is situated above the cooking area while the cooking air is suctioned. As a result only half of the kitchen draught has to be heated and conducted into the workspace in the kitchen. For environmental regulations purposes it's vital to install pocket filters and fleece filters in the ambient air area. The special thing about induction hoods is the fact that they are extremely energy efficient.
Summarising it can be said that an induction hood covers the main functions of range hoods but is much more energy-saving which makes induction hoods viable in a short amount of time.
